Benzophenone is an organic compound and a commonly used building block in organic chemistry, being the parent diarylketone. In biological applications, benzophenones is used widely as photophysical probes to identify and map peptide–protein interactions.Benzophenone can also be used in UV-curing applications as a photo initiator such as inks, imaging and as clear coatings in the printing industry.
